Simultaneous Determination of Metoprolol Succinate and Chlorthalidone by Uv Spectrophotometric Method

چکیده

A simple and rapid UV spectrophotometric method has been developed for simultaneous estimation of Metoprolol Succinate (MET) and Chlorthalidone (CLT). The absorbances of both drugs were found at 267nm and 243 nm in the range of 12-28 μg/ml (y=0.0024X+0.001; r =0.9996) and 3-7μg/ml (y= -0.0149x+0.0015; r = 0.9991) respectively for MET and CLT in methanol 2 2 solvent system.267 nm and 243 nm were zero crossing point for CLT and MET respectively in first order derivative of UV spectrophotometry. Accuracy and reproducibility of the proposed method was statistically validated by recovery studies. This method is found to be precise and accurate and can easily be employed in the laboratory for the routine estimation of drugs.
